The Fine Print, In Plain English

PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: June 18, 2026

The short version: This is a small website run by one author. It collects almost nothing. There are no advertising trackers, nothing is ever sold, and the only personal detail it asks for is your email address — and only if you choose to give it, so we can send you free sample chapters. Even that address isn't kept on this site; it lives in our newsletter provider, Kit. That's the whole story. The rest of this page just spells it out.

Who runs this site

Military Stories for Boys is published by Appware Studio PTY. LTD., the work of the author K.M. Hardie. This policy covers the website at militarystoriesforboys.com. If you have any question about it, you can reach a real person at privacy@militarystoriesforboys.com.

What this site collects, and why

There are only a few things, and each one has a plain reason behind it:

  • Anonymous visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see roughly how many people visit, which pages they read, and which country they came from. It is cookieless and does not identify you or follow you around the internet. We see totals and trends, never individual people.
  • Your email address, if you give it. When you sign up to receive free sample chapters, to be told when a new book is out, or to unlock the audio samples, you hand over your email address — just the address, nothing else. It is stored only in Kit, our newsletter provider — never on this website, which keeps no record of you at all. We use it to send you what you asked for and the occasional note about the series. Nothing more.
  • Basic security and delivery data. Like every website, ours is served through Cloudflare, which automatically handles things like blocking malicious traffic and serving pages quickly. This involves standard technical data such as IP addresses, used only to keep the site running and safe, not to build a profile of you.

Cookies

This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. The analytics are cookieless by design. Cloudflare may set a small number of strictly functional cookies to keep the site secure and working, and that is the extent of it.

Who else is involved

To run the site, a few trusted services handle small, specific jobs on our behalf:

  • Cloudflare hosts the website, serves the files, and provides the anonymous analytics described above.
  • Kit (formerly ConvertKit) manages the email list. If you sign up, your email address is stored there so we can send you the sample chapters and updates. You can leave the list at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • Amazon. When you click a "Buy on Amazon" link, you leave this site and land on Amazon, where their own privacy policy takes over. We never see your payment details.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, for any reason. There is no advertising business behind this site to feed.

Children's privacy

These books are written for boys roughly nine to fourteen, but the website is built so that the grown-ups do the signing up. The email features here are meant for parents, teachers, and guardians — the people who buy and share the books. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you are a parent or guardian and a child has signed up for our emails, you stay completely in control of that address: just click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we have sent, and the address comes off the list straight away. The sign-up and the list itself are handled by Kit (kit.com), one of the most established and widely trusted email platforms in the world — so the address is held securely, and a single click removes it for good.

Your choices

This is the simplest part, because there is almost nothing to manage. This website does not store anything about you — there is no database here, no record of visitors, and no list of email addresses kept on the site. The only piece of personal data is the email address you give when you subscribe — nothing else is ever asked for — and it is held in Kit and nowhere else.

  • To leave the list: click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we have sent. That takes you off the mailing list straight away, so the emails stop.
  • To see, change, or fully delete your details: you can manage them yourself inside Kit, or email privacy@militarystoriesforboys.com and we will have it done in Kit for you — including erasing your address from its records entirely if that is what you want.

How long anything is kept

There is nothing on this website to keep — it holds no records of any kind, and there is no store of information here for anyone to look up. Your email address exists in one place only, Kit, and only for as long as you want the emails. When you unsubscribe you are taken off the list and the emails stop; if you would also like the address erased from Kit entirely, just ask and it is gone. The visitor statistics are anonymous totals that were never linked to you in the first place, so there is nothing personal there to hold or delete.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site handles data ever changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Nothing here is buried or written to trick you; if you can think of a clearer way to say any of it, tell us.
